I live in Minnesota, where I share my life with my Husband, 2 dancing rescue dogs and a very chatty bird - It’s my little circus, my happy place. My life has been a wonderful journey, of course like all journeys it’s had it’s twists and turns. I starting creating because it was how I communicated and related with the world as I saw it through my eyes, the eyes of child with Dyslexia. While other children could read and write, I excelled at creativity, drawing, painting and spending time in nature on the St. Croix River. I viewed the world through symbols and imagery, observing the river how it ebbed and flowed - the turtles, fish, birds, muskrats and beavers that called the river home.

Fast forward, I was in my office looking over Down Town Minneapolis, staring at the Mississippi River from a corporate tower in a cubical beavering away and it hit me - this is so far from where I set out to go/be - START painting my inside voice said - just try it again. That night I went home and I told my husband I want to go by some paints and start painting, how sad is this, he said I did not know you could paint. Ugg, well I did not know if I could any more but I was going to find out. I bought some paint and started - like life, some paintings were good, most not so good but it was not the product but the feeling of creating I fell in love with again. I kept my corporate job for a few more years and it served me well. I learned a lot about myself and how I want to show up and guess what it was as that little girl who loved to draw, paint and play by the river. How can I be her again? How do I go back? So I picked up the paint bush in 2011 and started to create again. In 2019 I was laid off, and I looked at it as a gift, the gift of time to choose! Up until now I needed my corporate job to survive but while I was working and painting in my free time I saved money, took classes on how to show up as ME. I want to take what I have learned along the way and really start living as a life artist - take charge of how I want to show up and live life illuminated! Share that light and feeling of magic I feel when creating. And so it is!

I am an intuitive painter who listens to her heArt, nature and what it has to say. It has not been easy to let go of Corporate Kim, after all I had devoted decades to her and learning how to lead, mentor and shepard in the new members of the corporations I worked for - and I loved that part of the job. Up came the next question - how can I share the magic of painting with people who tell themselves they can’t even draw a straight line? You use the coaching and mentoring skills you learned in corporate and become a Creatively Fit Coach who can teach people the process of creating art as a meditation tool to relieve stress and improve your well being one layer of yummy color at time. Paint what you want more of in your life with intention and open up to what is calling you to the canvas. So that’s my story morning glory, what’s yours? what’s your heArt telling you? Heres the meat and potatoes: I have BFA degree from MCAD and then professionally worked for advertising, publishing & retail companies in various creative positions for 3 decades.
